2024-08 - Term 3 2024 - Major Major Changes Quick Add Popup for Notices:Implemented a new quick add popup feature for adding notices, streamlining the process for users to create and manage notices efficiently. AI Integration in Notices:Embedded AI functionality into the notices creation process, enhancing the efficiency and quality of content generation. Absence Grid for Parents:Added an absence grid for parents viewing their child's page and also for when staff are viewing a student's page. Personal Data Pill in Notices:Introduced a 'Personal' data pill to help users easily identify notices that are specifically directed to them, improving clarity and user experience. Minor Changes Search Functionality: Added the ability to search for another person directly from the student or staff page, eliminating the need to return to the home page. Implemented a direct link from the student page to Edumate for that student via their name and photo. Added an ability to filter the groups being added in the Events Manager, similar to the functionality available in the Notice Manager. This allows you to just view common groups rather than all 8000 groups available. Notices: Addressed slow loading times for the 'All' and 'Read' tabs in Notices. Resized images within the Notice Manager for optimized display and usability. Added an 'All' tab to Notices so users can see read and unread notices in the one list. Introduced the ability for users to embed YouTube/video URLs into notices for enhanced content sharing. Added a notice button on the class popup, allowing teachers to notify students or parents directly from the class they are currently in. Tweaks Calendar Enhancements: When changing a calendar date, reflect the appropriate date value in the top menu (e.g., Week 1(B)). Change the 7am-5pm to a full-day toggle (record 7-5pm but only show the user 'full day'). If they toggle to part day, show a period range selector so they can elect to be away from P1 to P3. Convert to store this as a time range. Fix the time display for late arrivals and early departures Add the teacher photo to the calendar on the mini version, which was previously only on the big view. When viewing a student's timetable (as either the student, carer, or a teacher), display the teacher's name and room/location. In calendar searching, auto-search from the point the user types a minimum of 3 characters (reducing the need for the user to hit enter). Move the due date field to the top in the homework tab popup to provide a larger textbox for input. Add a 'Due date' label to the due date section of the homework tab popup. Ensure the calendar refresh button is visible without hiding it behind settings. Synchronise individual music lessons from Clipboard to MyPymble. Notice Manager Improvements: Add an 'edit' button on the notice popup for authors to quickly edit in the Notice Manager. Set the 'email notify' text to default to: "There is a new notice available for you from the College in MyPymble" followed by the user's message. If changed, it resets to the default message. Add the ability to filter 'Add Individual' to allow users to add students, carers, or staff (default to search for staff). Remove the requirement for groups to be compulsory in notices. This allows notices to be flagged as 'Personal' if recipients are individuals rather than groups. Improve group searching in the Notice Manager by moving the 'Common' option to a toggle button at the top; this allows filtering by common parent and staff, defaulting to 'Common'. Put a 'refresh' button on notices so users don't need to reload the whole page to refresh. Activated push notifications for students, including alerts for upcoming events and assessment tasks. User Interface Adjustments: Swap the first and second columns in the staff view so that notices are the first column. Increase the width of the group dropdown list to display the full name of the group. Covers Enhancements: Enable teachers to 'request cover' for a period without it being classified as an absence. Add an option to filter classes that start before the end time and end after the start time when leaving cover work. Change the cover prompt to read: "Enter a brief summary of the cover work for the class and cover teacher." Add 'Meetings', 'PL', and 'Event' to absence reasons for staff only. Enable users to click on a duty and request cover; this should apply for both duty periods and normal classes. Miscellaneous Tweaks: Add an icon to the agenda view to indicate if work has been left for that class (red = not left, green = left). When adding cover work, don't save the phrase 'Private Notes' unless there is accompanying text. Adjust the 'Homework Due' label on the mini calendar version for better positioning. Create a hover effect on notices to show a summary blurb. Ensure searching by email address is available in the groups member searcher. When in the group screen, sort the member list alphabetically by surname. Added the 'edit my details' button to the family widget for easier access to personal information. Bugs and System updates:We addressed over 30 bugs and issues raised by users.
