Configuring your new device - 2026

Mac
Initial Setup
Turn on your Macbook and you will see a welcome message in a range of languages. Click the screen to begin.
1. Select the language as English (Australia). Click the → to continue

2. Set your region as Australia and click Continue.
Connecting to your Wifi Network
1. If you are broadcasting a wifi network, you should now see it appear. Select it and then you will be prompted to enter your Wifi password.
2. After entering the password click Continue
Connecting to Pymble Systems
1. You will now see a message stating that device management is required. Click Enrol. If you do not see this message, please go back to the very beginning of the process as this will restart the laptop. If you still don't see this message, please contact the IT Service Desk.

2. You will now be prompted to sign in with your Pymble email address. If you are not prompted to complete this step and you can proceed with the set up, please contact the IT service desk. You will also need your Pymble password. If you don't have a password or you have forgotten it, please contact the IT Service Desk.

Create a Mac Account
1. Once the Mac finishes enrolling, you will be asked to create a local user password. Please use your Pymble password. You can choose to set up a password hint. Click Continue.

2. Enable Location Services on your Mac and click Continue.
Completing Windows Set-up
Ensure your Macbook is on charge before proceeding or the setup will not continue.
1. Once signed in with the power connected, let the Macbook sit for a minute or two. It should begin downloading and installing all of your necessary apps. This stage will take ~15mins, depending on your internet connection.

2. The Macbook will then restart itself. (If prompted to setup Filevault, you can do so, or disregard with cancel to proceed with the setup).
3. Once restarted, log in using your Mac password.
8. Enter your Pymble email and password where prompted, then confirm the password a second time.
9. You may now begin signing into your apps (OneDrive, Edge/Chrome, Adobe Creative cloud).
Windows
Initial Setup
After you turn on your laptop, you will need to configure your laptop to our regional and language settings.
1. Select the language as English (United Kingdom). Choose Continue in English
2. It will now ask the question "Is this the right region?" - Scroll down and select Australia and select Yes
3. When asked "Is this the right keyboard layout or input method?", scroll down and select US (not the other "United States" options). Select Yes

4. When asked if you'd like to add a second keyboard layout select Skip.
Connecting to your Wifi Network
1. If you are broadcasting a wifi network, you should now see it appear. Select it and click Connect.
2. You will probably be prompted to enter your Wifi network Password. Enter it and click Next.
3. Your laptop will now check for updates.
Connecting to Pymble Systems
1. Enter your Pymble email address into the Sign in area. The click Next

2. Enter your Pymble password. If you haven't received your password or have forgotten it, please contact the Pymble IT Service Desk on +61 2 9855 7771. Click on the eye symbol to view what you have typed, then click Next.
3. It will now cycle through Device preparation, Device Setup and Account setup. Once each step is completed. a green tick will appear. This process may take 15-30mins, depending on internet connection. You can view where the process it up to at each step by clicking on the arrow to expand the view.

4. Once the process has finished, you will see a Pymble Ladies College desktop wallpaper.
Completing Windows Set-up
Microsoft Edge
- You will now see a welcome message to set up the Microsoft Edge browser. Edge is the preferred browser for Windows devices. Click Confirmand Continue.
- Google Data - Google data is now compatible with Edge. Select Sign in for Google data. Enter your Pymble email address.
- You may also see that your Assure web filter is logged in,
Setting a Windows Hello PIN
- You may be required to set a Windows Hello PIN, if prompted, do so.
Installing Additional Apps
- Your Microsoft apps will be preloaded on your laptop
- If you need to download and install more apps, please do so via the Company Portal app
iPad Pro
If you have elected to purchase an iPad Pro as your primary device, you will need to book in a set up appointment for the device to be configured to work on our network. Make a booking here
